Directions For Wednesday

Students:

            Just need to rest my voice so that it will come back! Please be on your best behavior. Do the following:

·        Make sure you got a review sheet yesterday.

·        Keep the sheet to use to study for your test on Friday.

·        Finish the ALL ABOUT ME POWERPOINT.

·        Read and follow the directions. Proofread your work. No paragraphs in a PowerPoint Presentation.

·        You do not need to upload to Moodle yet. There are some things that I want to show you that are advance features of PowerPoint.

·        When you finish the PowerPoint, you will go back to Microsoft Word for one more newsletter. Some of you were absent when we did the first one. There is a question on the test that asks, “What is the title of a newsletter or publication called?” It is the Masthead. Read the directions. They may be directions that I have not converted to Word 2007. So here are the steps to setting up the Newsletter:

·        Step 1: Open Word. Click No Spacing.

·        Step 2: Click Center Align

·        Step 3: Click Insert Word Art. Select one. Type: Ethics Today

·        Step 4: Click ok and adjust size as necessary.

·        Step 5: Click on the right side of the Word Art. Then press Enter Two times.

·        Step 6: Click on Page Layout. Columns. More Columns…Two…Apply to…this point forward. (VERY IMPORTANT) Then you will type newsletter article. Add a Clip art. Add a table. (All of this is to review for your test on Friday.)

·        Step 7: Save as Ethics Today.

5^th Period don’t forget to clean the tables. Someone be responsible for getting the Clorox Wipes. 5^th Period, no drama going to and from lunch. Come back to class quietly and do your work.

Thank you for being good and understanding that I need to get better. To do that I just can’t talk for a few days. If I came to school, we all know that I would not be quiet. I would have to talk!!! J

We have made it through Week 5!!!

Unfortunately the really cool websites Animoto and Prezi are not working because we do not have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. In addition, we do not have the permission to download the latest version. Hopefully computer services will get that downloaded for us and we will be able to use them!

Various Topics

We made it to Friday again! Just think you have completed three weeks of 7th grade! This week we had Volleyball games and Football games.  Keep up the good work teams! Looking very good!

Next week (on Tuesday) you will receive your first progress report of the year.  You will also receive your ARMT scores from last spring. The progress report will include every teacher and every assignment that has been graded for each class.  This is called a comprehensive progress report.

Furthermore, there is a dance tonight. Remember it is $5 to get in and your time is from 7 pm to 9 pm.

Finally, Crash the book was fun for me to read. I realize that you have already finished your discussions in your Language Arts classes. However, I would like to discuss some overall aspects of the book.  Feel free to respond to one or all of the following points:

• The book has many life lessons. What was one Life Lesson that you could identify with or that you  learned from this book?
• Have you or someone you know been mistreated because of your/their religious beliefs or personal choices? (for example in the book: being a vegetarian or a Quaker)
• Would you sacrifice making more money if you would be able to spend more time with your family? What about when you have your own family? Explain your decision.

Crash

This summer you were supposed to read the book Crash. We are going to do some discussing through the blog about the book. Today's post is just to get us used to typing in a blog format.

You will respond in a comment by answering the following questions:

• Do you enjoy playing a sport? How do you feel about winning and losing when you play?
• What does it mean to be a hero? Who are some of your heroes?

Respond by answering one or both of the questions. Do not use texting language. Type out your sentences. Proofread what you have typed. At the end of what you typed answering your question, add your initials and what class period you are in.  For example, I would put mh 2nd.

To publish the comment you click anonymous. Then click publish.

First Test

Today you will be taking your first test!! After the test, we will begin a little competition.

• Look under Resources.
• Find the Link that says Volcano Puzzle. (Remember they are in ABC order)
• This is a slider puzzle.
• If you complete the puzzle by Friday, show it to me.
• Then I will add your name to the WALL OF FAME.
• All students who complete the puzzle, no matter how long it takes you, gets a little treat on Friday.

All About Me PowerPoint

Hello,
As you can see I am not here today.  If you happen to open the internet, you may read this.  First, you need to make sure that you create all 8 slides for the PowerPoint.  You need to add clip art.  If you want to add real pictures, bring them tomorrow on a memory card or a thumb drive.

Also, tomorrow marks the one year anniversary of the April 27th tornados.  If you would like to discuss what it was like that day, feel free to post a comment here. Tomorrow I will enter a post on what it was like for our family.

Last Day of Testing!!!

I know that you are so glad that today is the last day of testing!!! I am excited for you!!

Today I have to go to the orthodontist, but I will be back tomorrow.
You have one last spreadsheet to do and turn in to Moodle.
We will start Databases on Wednesday.

Tomorrow is the 8th grade play.  Bring a dollar and you can go to the show...it will be the second half of all our classes. In addition, progress reports go home tomorrow!!!
