Thank Goodness It is Friday

We have made it through Week 5!!!

Unfortunately the really cool websites Animoto and Prezi are not working because we do not have the latest version of Adobe Flash Player. In addition, we do not have the permission to download the latest version. Hopefully computer services will get that downloaded for us and we will be able to use them!

Enjoy Cool Math Games and Wordle for now!

Have a wonderful weekend! We start our career unit on Monday. Mrs. Carr, our counselor, will be joining us. So be on your best behavior Monday!

Various Topics

We made it to Friday again! Just think you have completed three weeks of 7th grade! This week we had Volleyball games and Football games.  Keep up the good work teams! Looking very good!

Next week (on Tuesday) you will receive your first progress report of the year.  You will also receive your ARMT scores from last spring. The progress report will include every teacher and every assignment that has been graded for each class.  This is called a comprehensive progress report.

Furthermore, there is a dance tonight. Remember it is $5 to get in and your time is from 7 pm to 9 pm.

Finally, Crash the book was fun for me to read. I realize that you have already finished your discussions in your Language Arts classes. However, I would like to discuss some overall aspects of the book.  Feel free to respond to one or all of the following points:

• The book has many life lessons. What was one Life Lesson that you could identify with or that you  learned from this book?
• Have you or someone you know been mistreated because of your/their religious beliefs or personal choices? (for example in the book: being a vegetarian or a Quaker)
• Would you sacrifice making more money if you would be able to spend more time with your family? What about when you have your own family? Explain your decision.

You have made it almost through the first two weeks of school! Now you get a three day weekend! As you all know, I will be celebrating my birthday the whole weekend!!! Visiting with family and friends! I CAN'T WAIT!!!

Crash

This summer you were supposed to read the book Crash. We are going to do some discussing through the blog about the book. Today's post is just to get us used to typing in a blog format.

You will respond in a comment by answering the following questions:

• Do you enjoy playing a sport? How do you feel about winning and losing when you play?
• What does it mean to be a hero? Who are some of your heroes?

Respond by answering one or both of the questions. Do not use texting language. Type out your sentences. Proofread what you have typed. At the end of what you typed answering your question, add your initials and what class period you are in.  For example, I would put mh 2nd.

First Test

Today you will be taking your first test!! After the test, we will begin a little competition.

• Look under Resources.
• Find the Link that says Volcano Puzzle. (Remember they are in ABC order)
• This is a slider puzzle.
• If you complete the puzzle by Friday, show it to me.
• Then I will add your name to the WALL OF FAME.
• All students who complete the puzzle, no matter how long it takes you, gets a little treat on Friday.

Welcome to a New School Year!!!

You have almost made it through your 1st week of 7th grade!!!!!

You need to give yourself a pat on the back!!!

I think you are really going to enjoy 7th grade computer technology. Almost everyone has returned their forms. So we should be able to get our free emails very soon.
